Meet the Guy Behind Need for Meat

I’m Petar Dzaja from Dubrovnik, Croatia. I started cooking when I was 18, not because I dreamed of being a chef, but because I had to. Over time that survival cooking turned into a passion, and today meat is at the center of most meals I make.

I created Need For Meat because I couldn’t find a place online that really speaks to people who just love cooking and eating meat. Not extreme diets, not complicated recipes with a long shopping list — just honest food, simple tips, and meal ideas you can make your own.

I’m not a chef. I’m an experienced home cook who enjoys trying new recipes and collecting way too many pans and knives. I cook almost every day, and I like to keep things simple: good ingredients, real flavors, no food snobbery.
